Tomb Amnesia

I wanted to throw some impressions out there. I tried the co-op play in the new, downloadable Tomb Raider with Jen and had a really good time. I love how freeform your cooperative abilities feel. And Amnesia can be damn creepy. It makes some clever design decisions, I think, with the relationship between enemies and your insanity meter that push you towards fear, and the sounds in the game impressed me. On both counts, so far, so good.

  1. Glad you're enjoying Guardian of Light. I like the way the two characters have different abilities which work so well together in co-op. It's also interesting to play single player and see what puzzles have to change so they can be completed without another player.

Amnesia looks interesting but I'm not really into scary games. I'll be interested in your more detailed impressions of it.

  2. In Tomb Raider, I love how open combinations feel. Tossing grapples back and forth, or carrying Lara on my shield while she shoots at bad guys are just silly fun, and in a game with such simple presentation, that's definitely what I'm looking for.

I don't like scary games much either, but only because they're too effective on me. :(

  3. I haven't even tried carrying her around while she's shooting...! : ) Gotta try that next time we play...
